Comment:

 This is moved now, as far as i think.
 You can go to
 Dashboard->settings->Reading->Front page displays
 Select the radio box "A static page" and from front page drop down, select
 "Activity stream", click save and It will be shown on your front page.
 Please reopen it if you/someone else thinks it's a bug.
