Comment:

 The footer.php files for all BP themes call wp_footer(), which should make
 WP.com Stats persistent. If we're talking about making it persistent as
 far as integrating and reporting properly across subdomains (in the case
 of a subdomain install) isn't this an issue for the WP.com Stats plugin,
 not BP?

 Suggest wontfix, unless whyisjake would like to elaborate.
