Comment:

 Confirmed on 1.3-bleeding.  Leaving public and private groups work fine.

 What's interesting is I commented out the following line in bp-groups.php:

 {{{
 add_action( 'wp', 'groups_action_leave_group', 3 );
 }}}

 Just to see what would happen and the same thing occurred;  I was able to
 leave public and private groups fine, but couldn't leave hidden groups...
