 I saw this Ticket #1718 was closed.  I am having this problem when a user
 registers from the wp meta widget and clicks on the activation link in
 their email.  Signups from buddypress signup seem to work.  I would like
 to have the buddypress signup/login in the main site frontpage sidebar and
 get rid of wp register all together, but would like to see the error go
 away first.
