 Erich, this is caused in part by the secondary blog theme in question.

 The Kubrick theme is overriding the BuddyBar's font.

 To Andy et al., it might be beneficial to define the font for the link
 (#wp-admin-bar a) instead of for the #wp-admin-bar <div>.
