Comment:

 You are correct.  But there's an outside chance that someone may want to
 actually post "Please write anything……" to a wire, so we can't just filter
 it out.

 Probably need to set a javascript variable/token when the field is written
 into by the user, and manipulate the form content before the ajax/form
 submit.
