 when i load the buddypress codex, it NEVER STOPS loading.  looking at my
 activity window it's loading 1000s and 1000s of images, gravatars
 specifically.

 for example, when loading  the codex, my activity window shows 1000s of
 items loading like these, and it doesn't seem to ever end:

 etc....   still going....:)

 is it loading the avatars for all the users on buddypress for the "blog
 authors" dropdown?  oof... bring my browsers to a halt.

 and with some pages, it seems to cut off loading prematurely, shortly
 after the body tag, and that's all i get.  no idea on this end if they're
 related.

 ok... that's all:)
