 I just tried this in Webkit nightly build (applies to both Safari and
 Chrome) and FF3.5.  Can't confirm what OP is seeing yet, will wait for
 more info.

 Small Note:  As long as the full-size avatar image you uploaded is large
 enough the selection box won't go out of bounds on you.

 If this ends up being the case what we might need is additional
 information on proper image sizes displayed on the page when uploading.
 If you find this is the case, lets change the Summary to say this.  Will
 be able to crank it out soon.
