Yes, I read it. The POT file needs to be created. As far as I understand
it, one will need to search through the buddypress code for _e() and
__() functions and extract the strings into the POT file. After that,
you can follow the steps in the translation guide.
Of course, BP will keep changing and this will need to be revisited on a
regular basis (unless Andy starts maintaining a POT file for Buddypress).
