 I have just updated the patch to include the only change to WordPress
 since WP 2.8.1 was released (as per
 http://core.trac.wordpress.org/log/branches/2.8). This is for the 2.8
 branch.

 Also, the version file in trunk should probably be modified to something
 like 2.9-rare (similar to http://core.trac.wordpress.org/browser/trunk/wp-
 includes/version.php?rev=11716).
