 I had the same problem on my WPMU2.7, but I haven't deactivate plugins
 before the upgrading.

 I have upgraded all plugins by ftp, deactivate them and re-install WPMU.
 Now I don't know if I've fixed the problem, I'll wait next update of some
 plugin.
