<div dir="ltr">What about something in-between? I agree that the second one is too big, but I think the first one is a bit small. In particular, I think people on small screens or with visual problems would have a difficult time with the first option.<br>

I prefer the 1st set. I don't mind slightly larger tabs but the ones on the 2nd set are a little too large. I feel the icons add to the largeness and might work better without them.<br>
