 I'm not sure there's a good reason to revert this change.

 5.5. It will likely need fixing and improving the code and adding in 5.6.

 Technically, this change is independent from the one in #49288 / [48340].
 I think there are just two very minor conflicts to address when reverting
 [48340] and maybe a bottom margin to keep in the CSS.
