 Yes, that would be ideal :)

 And yes, perhaps it's time to look again at the PHP coding standards and
 try to come up with some changes that will make this better. Don't think
 implementing a templating system is possible at this point, that ship has
 sailed long ago. But perhaps can start by looking at the code and come up
 with an uniform way of "separating" PHP and HTML. Looks like there are
 currently over 8,000 `?>` and about 700 `echo 'string';` in WP. That's a
 lot of places that need considering :)
