 Yes, I actually intended to mention that before. I was not around yet back
 then, but I've heard some of the core devs talk about it before, and
 apparently it didn't go too well. I'm kind of shady on the details though.

 I think that it would still be helpful to take a look at the process used,
 even though we probably ''don't'' want to follow it now, just to
 understand what went wrong so we can avoid repeating the same mistake.
 (Which is why the devs are so hesitant here: they are afraid that many of
 the proposals would just end up repeating the same mistake.)
