 @melchoyce I think it can be easily simulated by zooming out your browser.
 Compare zooming out to 25% with and without the patch:

 * [attachment:zoom-out-to-25-percent-without-patch.mov]
 * [attachment:zoom-out-to-25-percent-with-patch.mov]

 Notice how when the patch is applied (and at least to 50% zoom) the
 sidebar has the same relative width to the screen.

 @celloexpressions in the case here for when zooming out further than 50%
 are additional media queries needed to ensure the pane remains the same
 relative width?
