 Thanks for these notes Andrea.

 Off the top, I always liked the ACE Code Editor. That said, it does seem
 to me that we could work around CodeMirror issue with screen readers.
 Either we could choose to mirror the content out to `contentEditable` or
 there could be an alternative source code editor provided when a screen
 reader editor for screen editors it seems to me would have widely
 different requirements for ideal behaviour than a visual screen editor.

 Perhaps we could really improve the accessibility performance via
 automated substitution. There could be a hidden manual switch picked up by
 all screen readers just in case the automatic one doesn't trigger.
 Moreover, screen reader editing would be an ideal preference to pair with
 "Disable Visual Editor" in WordPress user profile.
