 Good point. I have observed that Tor complains about canvass.

 Note however that the inline JS code feature detects if the browser has
 emoji supports and polyfills if it doesn't. For this it uses canvass.

 The alternate would be to detect without using canvass or to load twemoji
 for all browsers. Not sure if there's any method to feature detect without
 using canvass.
