 @wewlad whilst I understand what you are suggesting is more flexibility,
 for something like this I would point to making a child theme or forking
 one of the default themes. I also understand this isn't something a basic
 user can do.

 As far as the default themes go, having options would be something for
 layout, that we'd try and avoid in this case. Thanks for suggesting though
 and perhaps you could make a child theme with flexibility like this and
 put on the .org repo?
