Comment:

 Could one of the project leads please find the time over the next few days
 to read through all of this and give us a second opinion? We would really
 appreciate it! I realize that when this ticket was opened it was in the
 middle of trying to get 4.3 out the door. Now that things are slower
 again, please take an opportunity to address this before everything gets
 really busy with work on 4.4.

 (I am very tempted to reopen, but I know that some folks read every
 comment on trac, so this will get seen, I think. :-)
