Comment:

 Seems like the suggestion from @SergeyBiryukov is sound and we've got
 [attachment:13t651.3.diff] to implement it.

 Unfortunately, I feel like we'd need more time to actually test it, and
 dropping this in on the eve of 4.2 beta 2 is probably not the greatest
 idea.
