 Actually, I thought about this further, and we don't actually need to be
 passing the DB handle - the handle is passed so that it goes to the
 correct DB server, whereas there's only one client lib that it can go
 through, the one loaded by PHP.

 I'll fix this and the `ext/mysql` bug tomorrow.
