 Okay, I'm not sure if this is helpful or not, it might be my isolated
 incident, but I was having the same "update" issue, but I thought maybe it
 was my browser so I tried using Safari instead of Chrome, and it worked! I
 was able to update all 20 of my plugins just fine.
