 When old theme get_option( 'show_on_front') value set page.

 you should reset to the value of the posts show on front
 Template even though not set anything, CSS home class is removed(
 body_class )

 When old theme get_option( 'show_on_front') value set posts.

 home class added( body class )

 Templates even though not actually set, only the class is added, it is
 undesirable
