 Hi,

 I have EXACTLY this problem and it has taken me 3 hours to finally find
 this ticket. Thank you! Glad I'm not going mad and it IS a known issue.

 Where exactly , and how exactly do I overwrite the:
 "request_uri"
 as described above to fix this? Currently I have a broken site. I'll have
 to downgrade to 3.8.4

 I'm bumping this up to 'Major' as upgrading to anything above 3.8.4
 completely breaks my site i.e. running multisite in a subfolder alongside
 other PHP pages in the root. This is a student blog setup and we have
 approx 8000 people this is affecting :(
