Comment:

 Given how long it's taken us to get 4.0.1 out, with iOS 8.0.2 fixing this,
 I think I'm going to leave this as is for 4.0.1. I'm a bit concerned the
 currently-in-trunk checks have not been tested enough for us to backport
 and ship in a hurry.

 Should we revert [29729] and [29776] in trunk?
