Comment:

 Even if an image is already shown in full-size, a link to the URL provides
 users (especially not tech savvy ones) easy access to the URL.

 I don't see much to be gained here, other than making a minor editing
 workflow setting harder to understand by changing its defaults based on
 context. We should provide predictable user interfaces and experiences
 whenever possible. Closing out.
