 As a first step towards this method we can do it much simpler.

 Instead of:
 {{{
 if ( ! isset( $content_width ) )
         $content_width = 500;
 }}}

 We can do this:
 {{{
 add_theme_support( 'content-width', 500 );
 }}}

 In the future, if we would like to extend this feature, we can use
 is_array() for different post-types or page-template.
