 A patch doing something you want but has been decided against might be
 cathartic, but a plugin disabling or bundling all the Open Sans files
 could be genuinely useful for people who are concerned about this, or
 perhaps someone could start to approximate PHP that does the sophisticated
 serving Google and services like Typekit do, but for core, for 3.8, I
 think the currently-there solution is the best.
