 That's sort of the point. We can't possibly know how they use the
 information. Why would be decide to do such a thing given these facts?

 Maybe better questions are: what benefit does bundling Google Fonts bring
 to WP core? Are those benefits more important than privacy? Is the world
 of open publishing best served with this?

 I love Open Sans too, and use it often - even from Google. I'm just
 opposed to bundling any hosted fonts in WP core, with the unknowns.
