 The visual editor supports all HTML5 tags (i.e. doesn't remove them)
 however it doesn't insert/use them. There are still a lot of older
 browsers that won't work properly with HTML5 (IE7, 8, etc.).

 If we start using HTML5 there it would limit the browsers the front-end of
 the site supports. That seems highly undesirable.
