 In IE8 with compatibility view on, with [[attachment:18917.patch]]
 applied, I am seeing a really wide pointer box (ref [[attachment:18917.ie-
 big-width.png]]).  [[attachment:18917.ie-width.patch]] will limit this to
 350px, which is roughly equivalent to the computed style in Chrome.
