Comment:

 My menu starts getting unreliable ('save menu' starts hanging) at around
 45 menu items.  At about 50, menu never saves.  No suhosin on server -
 Troubleshooting for days directly with the web server administrator hasn't
 helped.  No errors logged anywhere.  I'm nearly out of options - Please
 optimize the menu system in 3.3 or 3.4!
