 I have a blog on a network that has '''Allow people to post comments on
 new articles''' and '''Allow link notifications from other blogs
 (pingbacks and trackbacks.)''' unchecked in '''wp-admin/options-
 discussion.php'''. The intent is to disable comments and trackbacks, and I
 can confirm this is happening for new posts when I do '''Post''' > '''Add
 New'''.

 However, the MT Importer doesn't honor this configuration. All imported MT
 posts have comments enabled.
