 I don't mind it. It doesn't look bad on WP.com. It wouldn't be a change
 from 3.2's placement. It is probably more obvious than as a special action
 in the middle of a bunch of other icons that all open up menus. It also
 wouldn't cause nearly as many menus to shift around on open.

 Side note, what I don't like how it continues to grow within the toolbar,
 but that's not cause I don't like the animation. It's actually really
 slick. Rather, when it does grow too big, it has the ability to push menu
 items off the bar (or it might appear below the bar). However, now that
 everything is icons, there's much more free space, and this is less of a
 concern. In 3.4 maybe we can make either search appear below the bar
 (which I think could be designed to look really good) or cut off the items
 furthest from left (but not in the right-side menu) when we have too much
 cluttered up there.
