 experiences in version 3.1 when we added taxonomy queries, we're not
 likely to significantly alter WP_Query again (for both this ticket and
 #10964, among otherS) until we have them.

 I think the major problem here isn't unit tests for WP_Query args, but
 plugin compatibility. There are a lot of plugins that use the SQL filters
 - posts_fields, posts_where etc.
