 the `WHERE (expr)` for `SHOW TABLES` is 5+, IIRC, 4.1+ supported `SHOW
 TABLES LIKE` but not `WHERE`. Docs for
 [http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/show-tables.html 5.0] and
 [http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/4.1/en/show-tables.html 4.1] seem to
 agree.
