 This seems to be due to a bug in jQuery UI sortables, see
 http://dev.jqueryui.com/ticket/4074 and
 http://dev.jqueryui.com/ticket/4802

 The flash/refresh seems to only occur in Firefox, other browsers just jump
 to the bottom of the sortable element.
