Comment:

 They need to remain separate because MU expects a wordpress-mu folder,
 while WP expects a wordpress folder. The only difference between the two
 packages is the name of the internal folder.

 Guess we forgot to generate it for 3.0.1 though. I'll mention it to ryan
 and I'll see whether it can be automated or otherwise added to our release
 checklist.
