 You might be able to do this with CSS, but one of my sites that currently
 uses the Blogroll system for navigation is here:
 [http://thisibelieve.org/]. Note how we have images associated with the
 top level navigation items. Might I suggest a field and interface be added
 for menu item icons including images or entities/characters.

 We also reuse that navigation in the footer of the site so that it's both
 at both the top and at the bottom in the form of a footer site map. Thus,
 I would hope that once a navigation query was performed, it could be
 cached and recalled for later use without making a second trip to the
 database.

 With the new system in place, I won't have to use the blogroll or custom
 page/category queries to get the kind of results I wanted for that site or
 others so I'm very excited about this new feature in 3.0.
