 Clearly not my best work. I took only a very cursory view of it at first.

 I've looked at it again. Because of the use of visibility, the div takes
 up space. Best I can tell of why this is happening is that because of the
 negative margins, most browsers don't respect that as a block-level
 element it still deserves that space. Opera kind of does and the Add
 button loses out.

 Setting a width (170px) and floating it left appears to work for Safari,
 Chrome, Firefox, and Opera, and fails on IE 6. Still looking into it but
 we might just be able to serve IE {{{width: auto; float: none}}} to keep
 it from getting the patch.
