 I'm trying to achieve the same thing with the
 [http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/query-multiple-taxonomies/ Query
 Multiple Taxonomies] plugin. It progressively filters posts using multiple
 queries.

 I'm a bit worried about having it all in a single query: Will it scale,
 given all the subqueries and joins that would be required? (Of course,
 this could be rigorously tested once we have an implementation)
