 Hey guys, tried everything to figure out the cause of the WordPress 2.8
 widget interface error and it turns out that the thing creating the
 problem was my IntenseDebate plugin!

 When enabled the drop and drag interface is DOA.

 Hope this helps (I know you don't handle plugin errors, but thought it was
 worth mentioning the cause)
