 The "automatic enclosures" that you reference only appeared with this
 change, which broke backwards compatibility big-time, considering there
 are books published referencing using custom fields to create enclosures
 for attaching media files, such as podcasting.  And this bug isn't about
 creating enclosures, it's about wordpress automatically deleting them.
