 Okay, so the issue isn't so much that the table is trying to extend
 further than it should. The "widefat" class is working as it should. It is
 just that your table is too wide that the table is naturally extending
 beyond the boundaries of the container.

 My guess is that you are SOL, let me know how you feel about that.
