 Perhaps related to #3807.  Do you use Suhosin?  You might be able to work
 around the problem with this plugin:

 http://sparepencil.com/code/ajax-referer-fix/

 WP 2.5 will not have this problem.  2.3.x will require that plugin if your
 problem is the same as that in #3807.
