 The 1st gate should be does this need to go in a maintenance release. So
 regardless of anything else, I don't think it meets this condition.

 Having worked on Flock, I remember them having to create a smart solution
 for blogs with multiple alternatives of the same content. They had to
 visit each feed and compare the content of the feeds. Not pretty. It
 doesn't look like things have chanced so that one can say that two feeds
 are equiv without visiting.

 Better to encourage simple solutions that list true content alternatives
 like comment feeds for those interested. default is the theme I see themes
 most often based on it should be as... elegant as possible.
