Nope, it's not really a theme issue, rather something with TinyMCE.

It looks like this issue was introduced in 
http://core.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/19982

which references this ticket: http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/18311

I'm thinking this might be a regression though since the ticket does not 
mention a font change.
