There's certainly no rule that says you can't run a development version of
WordPress.

I'm running one at http://itsananderson.com/trunk/

It's really up to you. The build isn't fully stable, so it's possible that
you could run into a bug that would effect how your site is displayed. If
you're OK with that though, go for it!

I usually wait until the first beta before putting the dev version on my
main website(s).
