Trent,

Did you see what the release was about?

There was a security event that prompted a quick patch to ensure the 
risk of exploitation was minimized. With that being said, does it make 
sense to hold the update until everyone is notified?

The dev cycle for WordPress is pretty damn good if you ask me, and 
seeing the quick response and action taken to minimize damage from a 
zero day attack is pretty awesome.

Just my 2 cents.
